Most organizations have a hard enough time with the concept of leveraging their existing data to better their business, let alone the thought of introducing other data sources totally outside their oikos.  I put together this visual interpretation to explain the levels of data, their associated users and interactions, and where federated data can potentially be generated from.

There are six layers to the Semantic Big Data Wheel.
1.       The corporate data itself

2.       Primary generators and users of data
3.       Secondary generators and users of data
4.       External entities that generate and utilize data
5.       Semantically enabled data
6.       World Wide Web data
